Aaina Mahal Palace, Bhuj, Gujarat

This beautiful palace of Bhuj, built in 1752, lost its upper floor in an earthquake, but the lower floor is open for travelers, with a fantastic roll of 15.2 m showing a procession of Kutch State. The palace is one of the three in the muzzled complex of the old part of the city. 

The eighteenth century interior is a demonstration of the fascination of all European things - an inverted mirror of European orientalism - with a blue and white Delphi style tile, a candelabra with nuances of Venetian glass and the series of Lithographs of During Rake's progress. 

There is a magnificent view of Rani Mahal of the Tower. The palace was built for Maharao Lakhpatji Ram Singh Malam, a Dwarka sailor who had learned European arts and crafts on his travels.

 In the bedroom is a bed with solid gold legs (the king apparently brought to his bed every year). In the Fuvara Mahal room, the fountains played around the rule while he sat up monitor dancers or composing poems.

In short story: Maharao Lakhpatji ordered the project in 1750 to the architect and designer Ram Singh Malam, who lived in Europe for 18 years and had mastered several skills in Europe of architecture. An interesting legend surrounds Maharao Lakhpatji. It is said that he had used his beds only for a year, then bid. The museum is a royal showcase of kutch jewelry, weapons and art.
